Since Rob is technically in the Air Force, we can stay on a base in their TLF. I wasn't sure what to expect but this is what we stayed in while in Florida.

This was our quaint little front door. The bushes outside smelled so good. We have some here, but I'm not sure what they are called.

A little courtyard outside our "hotel room"

The master bedroom with night stand, dresser and TV/ DVD.
Then to our surprise a second bedroom. We were told that only one bedrooms were available. I was so happy to see a second room.

It had bunk beds and a porta-crib. Their room also had a dresser and TV.

We just got back from grocery shopping so don't mind the bags. This was our living room and kitchen. Sadly this kitchen was bigger than mine here in Memphis. So much more storage and counter space. The couch pulled out to a bed and their was high chair! I was so impressed!

The kids just enjoying some breakfast. It was nice not to have to eat out every meal. I love eating out but you can only take so much.
We were just a short walk away from a fresh water beach right there on the base. There was a Burger King, a grocery store, a mall-type area with a food court. There was so much more there that we didn't get a chance to see, like a camping area, movie theater and horse stables. Anyway, back to the beach. We didn't get any picture at the base beach but Kaelin got a lot of great shells. She put them all in her bucket and carried them back to the house, where I promptly boiled and washed. Sadly, I accidentally boiled a hermit crab. I checked it and I couldn't see anything in it, but there was. Oops!
We found a beach that was reserved for military families. It was plain luck that we happened to choose that area of the beach. We pulled in and saw signs posted and we were once again impressed.

I'm a sucker for the writing in the sand. If you look in the back that was where we were set up. We brought a blanket and tent, hoping to keep Savanna out of the sand and sun. It didn't work. She is a determined girl.

Enjoying the waves and breezes. At this point the kids were just stoked to have so much sand to dig in.

We made sure to bring along shovels and buckets. Later we went to a restaurant that gave the kids buckets with their meals.

More digging. Rob and I were a little worried that they would never go in the water.

So we moved them closer to the water. So that every once in a while a wave would come up and kiss their toes. If you notice, I'm getting a little bit red.

Finally they got brave enough to run down to the water and fill their buckets, then quickly run back.

Rob helped Sean build a volcano, which he was very excited about.

Savanna ate her share of sand and toward the end was constantly held, to prevent any further digestion of sand.
After all that sun, sand and sea what do you get...

Tired droopy eyes, with a little sun burn on the cheeks...

blood shot eyes with wind blown hair, a little sunburn on your nose. And

A very sore Momma. We finally left the beach because after 4-5 hours I realized that I forgot to put sunscreen on myself. I was so concerned about getting the kids slathered in the stuff I completely forgot about me. Oops! I'm still hurting from this. It sucked getting burned this bad on the first day there. More pictures to come.
