Happy Halloween!!

This Halloween Kaelin wanted to be a butterfly, Sean picked out a pumpkin, and Savanna just wore Sean's old red pepper costume, but this time we added a stethoscope so that she could be "Dr. Pepper". By the time Halloween is over they will have dressed up three times. For these pictures they dressed up to go to a "party" as Bass Pro Shops. They painted pumpkins, bobbed for apples, and colored masks. For our church party there were more games, a hay ride and a trunk or treat and then there's Halloween day, of course.

This is a video of Savanna smiling her 'little' smile and trying to talk a little. Hopefully, this shows up a little better. You'll also enjoy hearing Sean through a little fit, and listening to my very intelligent banter. Sorry for the length, I was hoping for more of a smile. You can see how nervous Savanna gets when Sean is around.

So, I've all ready made a post about Kaelin and Sean. This one is sort of about Savanna. I really wanted to take a picture of my growing stomach once a week in the same clothes and position. Then, reality set in and I only got seven pictures. They're taken in similar positions and pajamas. Over all, I think I did pretty good.

A few days before Savanna was born

Sean's nap

So, awhile ago we started talking about whether to continue putting Sean down for a nap or to phase it out. Kaelin was a little over 2 1/2 years old when she stopped. She stopped only because we had a really busy weekend and missed her nap just about every day. We realized that she behaved better on the days that she didn't get her nap. When she did nap, she woke up grumpy, mean and usually crying non-stop until it was time for bed. Every little thing would set off a tantrum. When she missed her nap she was just fine. She went to bed at the same time and even slept in a little bit later than normal. Sean has been acting the same way. When he wakes up from his nap, he is extremely emotional. For those of you who know Sean, you know he already is emotional; a nap just made it worse! We canceled naps, on Wednesday and so far, these have been his best days in a long, long time! He is younger than Kaelin was but, we recognized the signs sooner this time. Our evenings are much more enjoyable! Plus, just like Kaelin, he is sleeping in about an hour longer than he used to. Yeah for me!

Sean is fun loving, and so eager to smile (except for the camera). He has very communicative facial expressions. He loves his family and is just a cutie! Here are a few pictures of Sean.

While we were trying to get pictures after Savanna's blessing, we let Kaelin take some pictures to occupy her for a bit. This is one of her pictures she took. I don't know why, but I love this picture of the temple! I love the angle of it, the cloudy sky, just everything. She has taken so many great pictures. A lot of the pictures I put on here, she has taken. She's so cute, because she loves to paint and absolutely loves tie dye. A friend of mine once referred to her as a 'free spirit' and I agree.Here's another one.

Here are a few pictures that sum up Kaelin's true self. Most of the time she dresses herself. Usually it's a bunch of layers and lots of color. We are so grateful to have her uniqueness in our life.

This is a picture Kaelin took, the day I got back from the hospital after having Savanna. I'm still carrying a little baby weight in this picture, but give me a break it hadn't even been a week. And you've got to love Rob's signature smile/grimace and Sean's nakedness

Mud Island with the Fisher girls

Tiffany Fisher and her daughter Kaili came down from Ohio to visit for about a week. She was here for Savanna's blessing and because she loves me. While she was here we went to Mud Island with Rob's parents. Here are a few pictures of the kids.



They are setting up for Halloween and had this HUGE hay bale...monster?, anyway the kids really liked it.


It was impossible for me to get the kids in the same picture and facing me at the same time. In this one Sean just barely splashed his face with the water. Pure luck that I got him mid-action.

Sean trying very carefully to cross the river. For those of you who don't know what Mud Island is, it's a replica of the entire Mississippi River, to scale. It's about a half mile walk down and then another half to walk back. The kids play so much it always takes over two hours to complete our mile walk.

The kids love going to the Mud Island River Walk. I think Grandma and Grandpa Carlsen enjoyed it too.

Sean's Tower

Sean likes to build towers with just about anything. Rob and Sean built this tower from our dominoes. Unlike most boys, Sean likes to build them and DOES NOT like to knock them down. He also enjoys lining things up. Animals, markers, headbands, anything really. When he counts them he always says 1...and 6...and 9 and 6!!
