Big girl, Savanna

Lately Savanna has wanted to feed herself. So, we have been trying some things, and surprisingly she has done very well. I don't remember my other children doing this well. I know with Sean I purposely didn't let him, because I knew his personality and knew that my carpet would not get the good end of the deal. With Kaelin we were so paranoid, about what food to give her at what age, that I doubt that I even let her try it.

This one is just because she was teething. I gave her a cold carrot, and she loved it!

Her first attempt at feeding herself. Notice that her plate is upside down.

I think that using a spoon still needs some practice, her aim is a little bit off.

She absolutely loved canned peas and carrots! It was a nice break for me too.

As a side note, Rob found out that he passed his first set of boards.
Yeah! Woo Hoo! and all that jazz!
We are all so proud of him! Love you!!

Child Wisdom

Kaelin made me some new pictures for our room. She explained their meaning to me...

Kaelin:
"So if we are ever having a bad day, we can always look on the bright side" (pointing to the sun)

Hope your having a good day and if not you can borrow my "bright side"

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Owens

Here are a couple pictures from the wedding. I'll put up more when I get them. Saturday is the reception in Utah, if anyone wants to go.

Me and my sisters (plus baby Brooklyn)

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas

Don't worry this isn't her dress, just one she tried on.

Well, tomorrow Savanna and I will fly to Las Vegas. My sister Jayme is getting married in the LDS temple on Thursday. Then, I fly back on Friday. It'll be a quick vacation but still a vacation. My dad is taking his daughters out to a show while my mom watches Savanna. (Thank you Mom!) I'll post some pictures when I get back. Wish me luck on the airplane.

Alright, I really don't like this picture but it's one of the only pictures I have of just Jayme and I. Sorry Jayme!

Coats, gloves, and hats????

The kids really wanted to go outside and play today. Having not been outside, and seeing as yesterday it was in the high 60's even 70's, I agreed. Not two seconds later they are running back in for winter coats, gloves and hats. It was just too cold for us today. They didn't give up on playing though. Sean's "biker face"

Putting on gloves is serious business.

Savanna even got to enjoy it, because so some reason I still have this in her closet. Rob and I just put away all our winter stuff, I'm glad I hadn't gone through the kids stuff yet.

Also, I don't want to do a separate post for this, but I cut my hair. Some of these pictures might not be my greatest but I'm testing different ways of doing it, and some were taken by my kids.

This was the day I got it cut. All blow dried and round brushed. This was at Rob's Senior Send-off at the Botanical Gardens. It's a big party, before everyone takes off for externs and what not.
I tried curling it, I liked it, but I might try a smaller barrel next time.

Didn't do anything with it, just put it up. Mom, I know, you hate when I put my hair up. I didn't look horrible though.

Putting a little gel and letting it hair dry was a different story. This is my least favorite. I could tweak it and make it better, so I'll keep trying.

I'm curious of which way is everyone's favorite. Just be honest. You won't hurt my feelings. (Mom, leave a comment.)

Savanna on the move, sort of

This makes me so mad. I always turn the camera. I keep forgetting that you can't rotate the videos. Sorry! Anyway, Savanna was standing up against the kitchen chair, but every once in a while she would turn around and slap my hand. She's just cute. She always wants to stand almost refuses to sit. If you get close to her with she is sitting she'll reach out for a pant leg, shoe or anything to can reach to try and stand. She's getting pretty good too, but I still worry.

I caught her almost crawling. She was so close to actually moving and then she reached her goal and stopped. My other babies were crawling by now, but she's so intent on standing and so content with herself that I don't think she cares. She'll get there.

Que sera sera!

A look into what my kids are up lately...

Sean colored all over the wall and some on the carpet. He, of course, had to clean it up. Kaelin pops in and decided she wanted to help clean. He learned the consequence of coloring on the wall...having a blast with soap and water. It all came out of the carpet, but it didn't come off the wall. Looks like we'll be painting in August.

Savanna has taken up auto mechanics.

She's a hard worker

And she gets the job done.
Her Uncle Leny would be proud!

Kaelin wanted curls again. Of course, she had to add a hat and a colorful outfit.

She wasn't up for pictures though, she was quite sick but still looking cute.

Chill, Don't Kill!

We love that Memphis has these "awesome" commercials. It kind of shows you the state of the city. Here is another favorite. They are all about crime in the city, so your kids probably shouldn't watch them with you.

The last video has to be accessed via a link, but it again show's you why we love Memphis television.

Believe it or not, these are all actual commercials in Memphis. Just wanted to share Memphis TV with some of our out of state friends.
