We love our boy!

Sean loves to talk. He has to warm up to you but he'll char with you for a good while. The thing is, Can make any sense of what he says? He has an interesting voice. It sounds like he has laryngitis or is about to cry. He also LOVES to use certain words, like...because, but, yeah, well and some others. He does not always use them correctly but its quite fun. Here are a couple of his conversations with us.

Daddy: Sean, what are hashbrowns made from? Sean: (in a very stern voice) Potatoes! (Sean doesn't like potatoes, but I always try to trick him, because seriously, who doesn't like potatoes) Daddy: How did you know hashbrowns were potatoes? Sean: Because Captain and Morgan (my sister's dogs) caught a fish.


Not only did this never happen but, it doesn't make a lick of sense.

Daddy: Sean, is your pizza good? Sean: Yeah, my pizza is good but, Shauna gave me a haircut.


Sean: Look that truck is yellow but its really red!

Mommy: I love you, Sean Sean: Yeah, we can get green thingys for our green beans. (I don't know what he's talking about)

Our last zoo day

My sad attempt at getting a silly bee picture. Sean's head ended up getting stuck in the hole. He stuck his whole head in instead of just his face. It reminded me of Bolt when he gets his head stuck in the gate and the pigeon has to explain how to get it out, "Twist and pull". Anyway, we did get it out pretty easily.




I thought Sean would be a little cautious around the bees, but he was pretty fascinated by them. In the past it has been too crowded around the bees so we would just bypass them.

One of our first trips to the zoo we got a picture of Kaelin on this bench so since this will be our last zoo trip I needed another one. So sentimental. She had unique styles even back then.

Sean wanted his own bamboo pictures

We have really enjoyed the Memphis Zoo. For anyone who doesn't know it is free for Tennessee residents on Tues. after 2 pm. I'm sure everyone knows already, but hey maybe I helped someone. Now that we are down to about 4 weeks until we move, I'm trying to do everything one last time. We still have the CMOM, Pink Palace, Botanical Gardens and the Nature Center to go. We already had our last Fat Larry's dinner. We still need to go to Central BBQ one last time and a few other places.

Worst feeling ever

Alright, so I started losing my voice last Wednesday. Then I completely lost it Friday (problem might have been exacerbated by a Collective Soul concert, but you can't prove anything!) Voice MIA all of Saturday and Sunday. Partially comes back on Sunday night but that's when I start feeling horrid. Weak, chest cough, slight fever, congestion and runny nose. Then, Sunday comes around again and I can barely move. Called for a substitute to teach our girls in church (Thank You!) and I literally did not get out of bed all day. Most of the time going in and out of, what felt like, consciousness. It hurt to walk or even move. My muscles and joints were so sore. I had no appetite, made myself eat some food and drink some water, because I believe myself to have a little common sense. Slept just about all day then slept all night. This morning I woke up feeling 146% better. I am still sick but nothing compared to yesterday. I changed the sheets on all the beds, so we don't get sick again. Made the kids pancakes for breakfast and even took them to the zoo. Yesterday was so bad, but I would do it again if I could prevent this from happening. If only I had seen the signs earlier and took them seriously, I would have never went to the zoo. Give me the flu or whatever this bug is anytime, but spare my children.






During our trip to the zoo she kept saying that her legs hurt and she didn't want to walk. She stayed on the stroller. She even asked to skip some of the animals in order to shorten our tour. She asked if she could fall asleep in the car on the way home. Slept some more on the couch, barely touched her lunch and then fell asleep on the floor. I suggested she go lie on my bed. She accepted the offer with barely a word. I coerced her to chew up some Tylenol for her fever, at which time I really don't think she was lucid. She slept all the way until bed time, when Rob carried her to her bed and promptly fell back to sleep. Breaks my heart to see any of my kids sick, especially when they are this sick, with no energy at all. Just helpless.This just brought back so many feeling of helplessness. Kaelin had a surgery right around the age of two. Seeing her so sick and not being able to do or say anything during that time was the worst feeling ever. Seeing her so lethargic again just brought that all back again. She has been sick with colds before but nothing that has knocked her out this completely. I'm glad I went through it the day before so that I at least know that tomorrow she will be better, I hope and pray.

A sick mom is not healthy for my kids

So I have been sick for that last couple days. First I lost my voice BIG time, then as I started to get my voice back then I get the sore throat, cough, congestion, the whole shebang. On my worst day I just laid in my bed while the kids played around the house for a while. I finally decide that this is no way to be so I get up and get in the shower. When I get out I hear Sean crying and Kaelin running into me saying that Sean needs my help because he's standing on a "water container". I have no idea what she's talking about so I go to find out. I walk out of the bedroom and see this.....














Apparently Sean got hungry and some how climbed onto the water heater, which is in our pantry/snack closet (Yes, that is how small our apartment is) and couldn't get down. Also, yes I did make him stay put while I went to get the camera. I needed this picture to remind me that I really can't just lay in bed all morning. Notice how he is still in his jammas? I still don't know how he got up there.

Family Fun

On Saturday we wanted to do something. We didn't know what, just something. It was too hot for the zoo, and we had already spent the morning doing some packing. All we had left was the evening. We decided to go to Stinkerbelle's, greatest burgers ever. I'm dieing to try their funnel cake.

After it stopped raining the kids opted for the kids' table. They enjoyed their corn dogs. Maybe Rob and I finished their left overs, maybe.




Then, Rob took us to Putt Putt. We always pass it and we finally decided that Sean was old enough now to enjoy it with us.

walking?

I don't know if I can officially say that she is walking. She still falls down a lot. She still crawls slightly more than walks, but she walks very well, I think. When Kaelin and Sean decided to walk, they walked. They didn't really do both. I have more pictures coming from a fun night we had this past Saturday but I can't find the camera.

Goofy-tooth

Savanna currently has four teeth, but she is working on adding a few more. But as you can see from the pictures they are kind of goofy. She has the two normal ones on the bottom but she has one central and one lateral on top. Not too normal as far as my kids. I think it makes her look kind of red-neck. You can only see them when she is REALLY smiling and you can see best if she is above you. So to try and get these pictures we had to revert to extreme measures that I'm not very proud of. Pictures taken while teasing her with food, wrestling with Daddy and being hung upside down.

This is the upside down one, I just flipped it so you could see Goofy-tooth.




I just hope Savanna's nickname doesn't stick. I would hate to be a teenage girl with the nickname of Goofy-tooth.
